General Conference Information

The Oneida Nation, First Nations Development Institute, Intertribal Agriculture Council and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College are pleased to announce the Food Sovereignty Summit will be held April 14-17, 2014, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This is a forum for sharing and collaboration to build healthy food systems within our communities.

Training Tracks Offered:

  • Track 1: Applied Agriculture
  • Track 2: Outreach Strategies
  • Track 3: Our Heritage*

*Track 3 includes field tours from 10:30 - noon on April 15th and 16th. Please indicate your interest in attending these tours during registration. See conference agenda for more details.

Attendees have the option of attending sessions in just one track, or they may customize their experience by selecting from any of the sessions that interest them.

Field Working Sessions:
Join us for optional conference sessions on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 1-5 pm. The Oneida Nation will host three field sessions at the Oneida Farm, Tsyunhehkwa and the cannery. You have the option to register for only one of the field sessions to attend. Please see the posted agenda for more information on the field sessions.

Traditional Foods:
We are looking for opportunities to showcase and share traditional foods from other tribes and regions. If you would like to provide your own traditional foods for the grazing event or conference dinner please contact Mike Metoxen at (920) 496-5025.

Marketing Products:
